| 2009 - 2010 Teams CHEETAHS: MINI LEVEL 1 ages 8 and under, full year program, 5-7 competitions per year. Only one overnight competition per year. PANTHERS: YOUTH LEVEL 2 ages 11 and under, full year program, 10-15 competitions per year. Requires travel. COUGARS: JUNIOR LEVEL 3 ages 14 and under, full year program, 10-15 competitions per year. | INFORMATION ABOUT OUR COMPETITIVE CHEER PROGRAM Katz Cheer and Gymnastics Academy's competitive cheer program is for boys and girls ages 4 to 18 who are interested in competition cheerleading. NO experience is necessary to join one of our teams. Anyone who is interested can easily find a spot on one of our teams at any time during the year, unless space is not available. TRY OUTS are for the sole purpose of team placement. There is a place for every child of every ability level and of every age. Formal try outs for the next season are held in May every year. If you try out in May, you are guaranteed a spot on one of our teams. If it is a different time of year, you will be guaranteed a spot if one is available. In this case, you will be able to attend one of our practices and we will evaluate you for appropriate team placement at that time. Contrary to popular belief, it is usually not difficult for a child to pick up a routine in the middle of the season. Don't hesitate to ask about joining our team at any point in the year.
